Roses and Gardens
Growing roses in your garden Roses are among the most beautiful of flowers. No garden is complete without them. If you are fortunate enough to have the space for a rose garden - with a little bit of care you can have a superb display for many months of the year. That is the great thing about roses - they keep on giving and giving. Some gardeners plant their rose bushes close together to get a good show of roses. I prefer to give each rose as much space and air as it needs so that it grows into a strong and sturdy bush. I have a huge red rose called Mr Lincoln and it towers to a shrub of about 12 ft high. It has huge canes and it produces masses of large, fragrant roses all season long. Even if you have a very small garden you can always grow a special rose in a container. There are several good varieties that are suitable for growing in containers. Just remember that roses need about 6 hours of sun a day and plenty water. Take a look at the following pages to give you inspiration for your rose garden. I will add to these pages from time to time so remember to check in again.
