The basics of
Landscaping your Garden
Most of us move into houses
with ready made gardens. Some of them are carefully landscaped while
others are neglected jungles.
The first thing to do in any
garden is to take note of what is already there.
We need to consider the
garden’s infrastructure as a whole. What are its permanent structures?
What are its most important features?
For example, does your
garden have a pool? What trees do you have and where are they
situated? Are they lined up along the boundary or is there a large
shade tree in the centre of the garden?
Do you have a hedge around
the garden or is there a wall? Take careful note of any permanent or
semi-permanent structures in your garden before you begin to make
important changes.
Once we have taken careful
note of the focal points we can furnish the garden with shrubs and
flowers built around these main features.
